If you are someone that experiences dental anxiety even for your routine cleaning, then this is what you’ve been waiting for.  At Groves Dental Care, we want our patients to have a calm, relaxing experience at each and every visit.  And now you can with Oral Conscious Sedation!

At Groves Dental Care, we have a few options to help ease you through your appointment.  If you have slight anxiety and need something to just take the edge off, we offer nitrous oxide, known also as laughing gas. Nitrous oxide is a colorless, odorless gas that is administered by breathing it in through your nose during your appointment.  It works almost immediately and is completely reversible which allows the patient to drive themselves to and from their appointment. It is a safe and effective way to help you remain calm and relaxed.

For those patients with a slightly higher level of anxiety or for those who are having procedures that might last a few hours, we offer Oral Conscious Sedation.   Depending on the type and length of your procedure, a series of pills are given the night before and the day of your visit.    You are continuously monitored during your dental treatment with blood pressure, pulse and oxygen levels by a team member who does not leave your side.  Oral Conscious Sedation allows you to relax and remain calm throughout your entire visit.  A procedure that may take a few hours will feel just like a few minutes.  A friend or family member must accompany you to and from our office and you are generally back to work the next day.

Oral Sedation can often give you peace of mind you need in order to undergo any form of dental work that might give you anxiety or fear.  You will enjoy better overall health, improved self-image and a better quality of life once you’ve achieved a beautiful, healthy smile!
